Customer's Expectations

> Fast colour change to reduce the scrap percentage.
> High structural result. Need to move weld lines where will not create internal stress or weak points. Main area to be reinforced was back supports.
> Complete filling of all the ribs and walls.
> Absence of marks on both sides.

Our Solution

1 nozzle injects on cold runner and 3 nozzles inject directly on the part.
The valve gate type and nozzle series have been selected to inject the expected quantity of material.
The injection on cold runner decreased the colour change scraps number.
The CAE analysis and the pressure loss calculation provided:
   - The filling sequence approach and the drops location provided the fibres orientation.
   - The deformation areas and eventual weak points in the structure. It was possible to suggest the proper cooling line on the mould.
   - The correct flow diameter and system layout for obtaining a fast colour change.
The colour change procedure and approach was suggested to reduce the total number of scrap parts.

HRSflow system
The 4 drops conical valve gate system was composed by 2 angled manifold in 2 levels:
- 1 drop Ga series with gate diameter of 4 mm
- 3 drops Ma series with gate diameter of 3 mm
The actuation for the full system was pneumatic and all gates used external end rings.
